Metromohiem Museum – Artist Catalog (Concept Project)
This catalog was created as a university project to explore publication design for a museum setting. The concept focuses on the Metromohiem Museum and features the work of a selected artist from a seasonal exhibit. The goal was to design a visually engaging and well-structured catalog that presents the artist’s collection clearly while maintaining a professional and balanced layout.
Overview:
The catalog was designed for an audience of researchers, curators, and art enthusiasts. It combines detailed descriptions, artist statements, and visual documentation in both digital and print formats. A hybrid of manuscript and modular grids was used to create structure and flexibility, ensuring consistency across platforms. Clean typography and an asymmetrical layout enhance readability while emphasizing the artwork. Repetitive elements, such as a consistent image-title-description flow, create rhythm and guide readers through the pages.
Outcome:
A refined and organized catalog design that demonstrates strong layout composition, visual hierarchy, and an understanding of publication design across print and digital media.
